
Barthélémy Fougea
Barthélemy Fougea began his career working with renowned directors of the 1980s and 90s, including Luc Besson, Pierre Etaix, Bob Brooks, Andrei Konchalovsky, Édouard Molinaro, and Jean-Jacques Annaud. In 1987, he founded Boréales to produce documentary series and prime-time programs that left their mark on television (Lord of the Animals, Children’s Passions, The Odyssey of the Species, Homo Sapiens, The Rise of Man). In 2011, he created Winds to produce On the Way to School (winner of the César Award for Best Documentary) and made a name for himself with innovative approaches. The Night of the Elephants marked a milestone in the history of wildlife documentaries by revealing the first color footage of the nocturnal world of southern Africa. The docudrama Pan! Our musical odyssey by J. Guiot and T. Teston reached 20 million viewers on NBPC/PBS (USA). Since 2005, Barthélemy has also taught documentary filmmaking to an international audience (France, China, India, Thailand, Argentina, Trinidad & Tobago, Jamaica).
