Being a Teacher

The documentary

They live in the four corners of the planet and fight daily to pass on their knowledge.
From a nomadic camp buried under the snows of Siberia to the stifling bush of Burkina Faso, via the flooded lands of Bangladesh, three teachers are driven by a common vocation: an educated child can change the world. To achieve this, they are ready to face a thousand challenges to make teaching a true adventure and transform the destinies of their students.

Svetlana Vassileva, Sandrine Zongo, and Taslima Akter are teachers “from the ends of the earth,” driven by a common vocation: to fight daily to pass on their knowledge to children who are eager to learn. They teach in places where teachers are scarce, where education depends solely on them. From a nomadic camp buried under the snows of Siberia to the stifling bush of Burkina Faso, via the flooded lands of Bangladesh, they will make teaching a true adventure by committing themselves beyond their primary mission: to teach literacy without chalk or blackboard, to postpone early marriage, to build peace, to preserve nomadic culture. Alongside them, we will experience a universal story, that of transmitting knowledge against all odds.
