The documentary
Three years after the earthquake that devastated Haiti, Bernard Lavilliers undertook a trip to the island to assess the situation of the artists. From Port-au-Prince to Jacmel, the capital of Haitian craftsmanship, painters, writers, patrons and musicians recount the disappearance of cultural gestures after the tragedy, then their timid reappearance.
At the presidential palace, Bernard Lavilliers discusses the future of Haitian culture with the island’s most famous kompa singer, Michel Martelly, who has also been president of the republic since 2011.
